• This souvenir jacket was custom-ordered by a U.S. serviceman named Carl in the early 1950s and is reproduced under a double-name collaboration between Buzz Rickson’s and KOSHO & CO. The U.S. Air Force’s 17th Communications Squadron and 17th Light Bombardment Wing were stationed at K-9, Pusan East Air Base, in South Korea from May 1952, carrying out missions together during the Korean War. The embroidery features squadron motifs, with comical illustrations of a cat and a mouse wearing communications equipment.
  The jacket is reversible, with the same embroidery design on both sides—a rare specification. However, the black side has larger unit lettering and a cat without whiskers, while the blue reverse side has smaller unit lettering and a cat with whiskers. Each side is reproduced based on the original. The humorous embroidery reveals the artistic flair and playful spirit of the American serviceman who commissioned the jacket.
  At the time, souvenir jackets with military motifs like this were made only in limited numbers through custom orders placed by military units, and very few original examples remain today. This special piece is a fitting choice for reproduction as a double-name collaboration between Buzz Rickson’s and KOSHO & CO.

1. Fine horizontal lines and wrinkles on the acetate ground surface are the characteristics of this fabric.
   Tailor Toyo uses high-grade acetate to give it a vintage feel.
2. This product uses parts such as delicate fabrics and zippers to reproduce the texture of the time. Please handle it with care as it is sensitive to friction and slippage.
3. Please avoid hand washing or using a washing machine or dryer as it may cause significant deterioration of the product such as shape loss, discoloration, fraying, and seam breakage. Please consult a dry cleaner specialty store for laundry.
