• American Optical, commonly known as "AO," is the world's oldest eyeglass manufacturer, founded in 1833, and is one of the three major eyeglass manufacturers along with Bausch & Lomb and Shuron, and is famous as a favorite brand of famous celebrities such as John Lennon, John F. Kennedy. Also, American Optical sunglasses have been used by the U.S. military and police for a long time, and their quality is well known. The brand has been worn in numerous movies such as "Top Gun," "Easy Rider," and "Taxi Driver," and continues to be loved by U.S. military pilots and bikers.
  Since its launch in 1993, "Buzz Rickson's" has continued to revive many famous products delivered to the U.S. military in the modern age. In order to develop a new line of eyewear on the occasion of its 30th anniversary, "Buzz Rickson's" asked craftsmen from American Optical, which has a long history of working with the U.S. military, to produce a collaborative model at their workshop in Illinois, U.S.A. Finally, the brand, which has been reproducing American vintage military closures, has come to release "Made in U.S.A." sunglasses with "authenticity.
  This model is based on the "FG58 (Flight Goggle 58)," which was adopted by the U.S. Air Force in 1958 as a pair of sunglasses for pilots. The model is equipped with functions required by pilots, such as straight "bayonet temples" that can be worn while wearing a helmet or headset. This model is also famous for being used by the Apollo 11 crew in 1969, and the actual model from that time is on display at the Smithsonian Institution.
