15oz. "AI-SHIBU DYED" JEANS
- This pair of 15oz selvedge jeans is made of denim dyed with "Ai-Shibu". "Ai-Shibu" dyeing is a very time-consuming and sophisticated technique that first dyes the yarns with natural indigo in a vivid indigo blue, then adds a layer of persimmon tannin on top of the indigo. Denim dyed with "Ai-Shibu" has a deeper hue than ordinary natural indigo-dyed denim, and the more the denim is used, the stronger the color of the persimmon tannin becomes. This is due to the condensation-polymerization of tannin, the main pigment component of persimmon tannin, over time. Since ancient times, Japanese people have loved the changing of the seasons and the momentary brilliance of nature. The colors dyed with "Ai-Shibu", produced from such rich emotions and handed down from generation to generation, are "Japanese colors" with an attractive deep flavor that attracts even the hearts of those who see them. The silhouette is a regular straight for comfort.
