"VIKING VEST"
- This down vest with the "Alaska Sleeping Bag" label is reproduced by "Sugar Cane", based on vintage vests. Alaska Sleeping Bag Company was founded in Portland, Oregon in the early 1930s. The company began as a manufacturer of down-filled cold-weather sleeping bags. During the outdoor boom of the 1960s, the company grew to compete with L.L. Bean and Eddie Bauer for market share. At the end of the 1970s, after the peak of the outdoor boom, the brand was discontinued. The vintage brand has been revived by Sugar Cane with "Made in U.S.A.". This "VIKING" down vest can be combined with the AS15006 campus shell (sold separately). It has a reversible slider on the front to attach to the shell. The waist is adjustable with snap buttons and elastic tabs. The collar rib is made of virgin wool.
