- This Type B-15B is reproduced by "Buzz Rickson's" based on vintage. The B-15B, an improved version of the B-15A, was adopted in 1945. Initially produced in small quantities from cotton, most B-15Bs were made from nylon between 1949 and 1950. Nylon, developed by DuPont in 1939, was first used in military flight jackets like the B-15B and L-2. The B-15B featured a single rectangular tab for securing the oxygen mask hose instead of the two triangular tabs on the B-15A. The left sleeve pocket, previously only for pens, was upgraded with a zipper to accommodate both cigarettes and pens. The B-15A’s alpaca pile lining was replaced in the B-15B with a wool pile covered by nylon, preventing shedding and moth damage while improving mobility.

This jacket is a faithful reproduction of the vintage jacket, and parts such as the zipper are revived, based on the specifications at that time, so please handle the parts with care. In particular, the zipper may be damaged if it is forcibly raised or lowered. When pulling up the zipper, be sure to pull up the metal part of the zipper slowly and carefully. Please do not pull the leather string forcibly.
