• This Type MA-1 with patches is reproduced by Buzz Rickson's based on vintage flight jackets. The 71st Fighter Interceptor Squadron was reorganized in the summer of 1955 under the Air Defense Command's "Project Arrow", which aimed to reactivate fighter units with memorable records from the two World Wars. In 1957, the squadron began upgrading to the North American F-86L Sabre, equipped with a data link to communicate directly with semi-automatic ground control and analog computer-controlled interceptor guidance systems. Subsequently, from 1958 to 1960, the squadron transitioned to the supersonic F-102 Delta Dagger, and from 1960 to 1971 to the F-106 Delta Dart, maintaining its status as one of the top U.S. air defense teams. In 1965, the 71st Fighter Interceptor Squadron won the F-106 division of the William Tell Interceptor Tactical Competition. Additionally, the squadron received the Presidential Unit Citation three times and the Outstanding Unit Award five times. This patch version follows the Air Defense Command's patch regulations. Notably, the back features a large rare patch of the 26th Air Division, to which the squadron belonged, specially ordered by pilots to commemorate their participation in "William Tell 1965."

In particular, the zipper may be damaged if it is forcibly raised or lowered. When pulling up the zipper, be sure to pull up the metal part of the zipper slowly and carefully. Please do not pull the leather string forcibly.
