- The “Uncle Torys” is a lovable character everyone has seen at least once. Its creator is Ryohei Yanagihara, a master of advertising art. He has fans in Japan and worldwide, and his works continue to influence many artists even today. He was involved in the “Let's Go to Hawaii” advertising campaign held in 1961, so he had a deep connection with the image of Hawaii, and "Sun Surf" produced Aloha shirts with his original design in "Keoni of Hawaii" in the past. The response to the project was tremendous, and "Sun Surf" continued to search for new projects. Then, in 2024. After about 10 years of preparation, the new lineup was decided. Mookie Sato, the only artist in the world with official permission to modify Ryohei Yanagihara's designs, took over the worldview he had created and drew the designs. Mookie Sato is one of the artists influenced by Ryohei Yanagihara and is an avid fan of his work, so only he can bring all the charm of his artwork to life. Mookie has been deeply involved in Sun Surf's projects for a long time. Sun Surf who knows all about Aloha shirts, and Mookie who knows all about Ryohei Yanagihara's designs, will start a new Uncle Torys, Ryohei Yanagihara's world.
