• The third release from SCSC (SUGAR CANE Super “Denim” Collectibles). Launched in 1975, Sugar Cane is returning to its roots to mark its 50th anniversary, releasing a new "Made in U.S.A." World War II model. Sugar Cane has produced it in the United States, the birthplace of denim workwear. The denim fabric is produced in Japan. Based on the 1943 vintage jeans, it uses American cotton to reproduce the rugged texture with uneven yarn, characteristic of the era, when spinning technology was still rudimentary. Sewing is done at Sugar Cane’s U.S. factory. Rather than a direct recreation of a single vintage piece, this 1940s Special Model combines details—such as patterns, parts, and stitching—drawn from various WWII vintage jeans studied to date, while incorporating original elements. Particularly noteworthy are the pocket bags. Sugar Cane has reproduced the twill-plaid lining found in vintage jackets produced by ROUGH WEAR under its civilian label “ROUGH-IN” during the 1940s wartime period, using it for the flannel pockets.

  A label launched by Yuichi Fukutomi from Sugar Cane, who brought together a team of denim specialists. Known by the abbreviation "SCSC." In the 1st and 2nd collections, the brand reproduced the “individuality” of rare, super-vintage deadstock jeans and jackets that are now virtually impossible to obtain. Not only did they revive the distinctive custom parts of the era, but they also brought back to life all four major types of denim fabrics produced during the wartime period.
  For this 3rd collection, marking the brand’s 50th anniversary, they planned jeans labeled "Made in U.S.A."—now a rarity—at Sugar Cane’s U.S. factory. Combining the charming details found in various vintage pieces from the wartime era and adding original elements, they have completed a special model.
