14oz. SUGARCANE DENIM BLOUSE
- A 14 oz. sugarcane denim blouse woven with 6.5-count warp yarns and 6.3-count weft yarns. The newly developed right-hand twill denim takes its color inspiration from Japanese vintage fabrics that have developed a patina over time. It already displays a beautiful color even in its loomstate condition. At first glance, this jacket may look like a Type I (commonly known as the 1st model), but its most distinctive feature is the addition of large pockets on both sides of the chest. The design draws inspiration from U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps uniforms. The hangtag is based on ranji labels used on Japanese tea exported from the end of the Edo period through the early Showa period. At the time, these labels were produced as woodblock prints by ukiyo-e artisans.
