"PIT VIPER x EAGLE ＆ SNAKE"

• This special edition Sukajan(Souvenir Jacket) is associated with the snake, the Japanese zodiac sign for the year of the snake, 2025. The main side features a pattern from the early 1950s depicting a pit viper wandering in search of prey. The dynamic sense of movement is expressed by changing the embroidery's needlework following the meandering movements of the body. The characteristic coin-like pattern (a dots pattern within a circle) is emphasized by layering horizontal embroidery (Sewing machine for embroidery with a needle that swings left and right) to create a three-dimensional effect that beautifully depicts the power of the approaching pit vipers. Multiple colored threads are used for the bamboo and leaves, with gradations from white to green to express a nighttime bamboo grove with depth. The black with gold body and ribs are accented with red and white piping.
  The reversible side features an eagle spreading its wings while holding a white snake in its mouth. The light-colored gradation of white, gold, and pink threads is used to precisely depict the shading of the overlapping feathers, and the embroidery is brought out with black on the eagle's head, the snake's scales, and the pine tree branch on which the eagle rests. In addition, while the colors of the body and sleeve lines are usually matched on a standard Sukajan, the body of this Sukajan is made of wine, the sleeves are green, and the sleeve lines are silver. The combination of the three colors on the body is a rare specification even among vintage jackets, and the black color on the ribs, as well as the embroidery, brings out the whole look.
• “KOSHO & CO.” SPECIAL EDITION
  The “Special Edition” collection is a superior version of Tailor Toyo Sukajan that is an absolute reproduction of vintage souvenir jackets originated in the early days of post WWII. The intricate artworks are depicted in details by the experienced craftsmen with the vintage embroidery machines. The 100% wool rib that is purposely knitted loose by the primitive knitting machine in the same manner the rib of vintage jackets was done. The zipper with two pullers meant for reversible jacket is duplicated by using the 50-year-old vintage fastener machines. The special jacket has a woven label of “Kosho & Co.” which is a predecessor company of Toyo Enterprise, all the details of the day built in.
