"66th Fighter Interceptor Squadron"
- This Type L-2 with patches is reproduced by Buzz Rickson's based on vintage flight jackets. The 66th Fighter Interceptor Squadron was reorganized in August 1946 as part of the 11th Air Force (later Alaskan Air Command). The unit began training P-51 pilots at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska, and in the summer of 1951, the newest interceptor, the F-94B STAR FIRE, was deployed. From 1951 to 1955, the 66th Fighter Interceptor Squadron was commanded by Lt. Col. J.D. Collinsworth, a World War II fighter ace who had flown the Spitfire and shot down six enemy aircraft. The squadron features a unit emblem with a character whose essence remained until the late 1950s, and is a classical reflection of its time.

This jacket is a faithful reproduction of the vintage jacket, so please handle the parts with care. In particular, the zipper may be damaged if it is forcibly raised or lowered. When pulling up the zipper, be sure to pull up the metal part of the zipper slowly and carefully. Please do not pull the leather string forcibly.
