It is also the fabric of Tokushima Prefecture's intangible cultural heritage "Awa Natural Indigo Dyeing Method" that has continued since the Edo period. The cloth is soaked in indigo fermented in a kettle, dyed, squeezed by hand, and exposed to the air to dry. By repeating this series of steps many times, the indigo-dyed fabric is completed. The denim this time is dyed with a "special darkness" that requires twice as many times as usual. This indigo is difficult to dye. And the fabric is an extremely slab with a terrible unevenness. It is a fabric that even a skilled craftsman struggled with. The silhouette is standard Lot.770. The clean straight fit is a basic shape that matches any era. Indigo dyeing is a familiar fabric that has been refined in Japanese life. However, it takes time and effort, and the price cannot be reduced, so the business is shrinking.
