"KABUKI SELVEDGE"
- The manufacturing process, the factory, and everything about "Oni Denim" are veiled in secrecy. The denim has a greenish-indigo color that looks as if it were found in dead stock and has a super rough texture. It has a texture too peculiar to be called denim. What is barely discernible is the strength of the "nep" of the yarn. The extra-thick yarn used was specially ordered by "Oni Denim". The yarn is not only thick but also uneven. The tension of the yarn is reduced to the limit in the weaving process, resulting in a coarse fabric despite its heavy weight of 20 oz. This denim is woven with a greenish warp and a beige-dyed weft and is inspired by the oxidized indigo look of vintage denim. The selvedge is inspired by the colors of the Kabuki curtains, with "yellowish green" and "persimmon". The silhouette is a high-rise, relaxed tapered. The high rise and a strong taper to the hem provide a clean look yet a comfortable fit. These jeans have a rugged yet sophisticated design unique to ONI DENIM.
