- Sun Surf has reproduced a shirt produced in the mid-1950s by Driftwood, a brand of the Botanic Manufacturing Company, which was founded in the early 1900s. The company was based in Seattle and developed a variety of items, including workwear. At the time, Polynesian culture was very popular in the mainland U.S., and many of the shirts were made as resort shirts with motifs reminiscent of the sea and beaches.
