L-2B "85th FTR.INTCP.SQ."
- This Type L-2B with patches is faithfully reproduced by "Buzz Rickson's" based on vintage jackets. The 85th Combat Interceptor Squadron was established in 1942 during World War II. It was deployed to the European front and temporarily closed in 1947. In 1952, as the threats of the Cold War began, the squadron was re-established at Scott AFB, Illinois, under the Air Defense Command. In 1953, it received the "F-86D Sabre Dog," an interceptor version of the masterpiece F-86 Sabre, and it continued to serve as the spearhead of air defense over the U.S. mainland until its retirement in 1960. The patch is an elaborate design incorporating the characters seen on ADC units during this period and the design of the fighter aircraft that symbolize the jet era.

This jacket is a faithful reproduction of the vintage jacket, so please handle the parts with care. In particular, the zipper may be damaged if it is forcibly raised or lowered. When pulling up the zipper, be sure to pull up the metal part of the zipper slowly and carefully. Please do not pull the leather string forcibly.
