"MIKAGURA"
- One of the traditional Shinto rituals in Japan is Mikagura, a song and dance dedicated to the gods. This work is a rare design featuring a gorgeous depiction of the fans and Tsuzumi drums used in Mikagura. These motifs were often used in Japanese-patterned Aloha shirts, but in this work, a hemp cord called "Shirabeo", which is used to bind the drum, is used as a colorful accent to make this shirt gorgeous. "Sun Surf" has faithfully reproduced this oriental design Aloha shirt based on the vintage.

Sadnoske Hata, the older brother who was the owner of S. Hata Shoten, and Yoichi Hata, the younger brother who was the founder of the subsidiary Y. Hata Company and owner of the Hata Dry Goods Store. They came to Hawaii as immigrants, and together the brothers built a successful business. S. Hata Shoten, who was also a Japanese-affiliated fabric converter, had been dealing in Japanese fabrics since before the war. Using the distribution of fabrics from Japan that the company had established, Hata Dry Goods Store developed many impressive Japanese patterns. Because the company produced only a small number of products due to the high percentage of wholesale sales, there are now very few opportunities to find originals.
