45th EARTH JEANS
- The "EARTH DENIM" is born entirely from the bounty of the earth. The yarn used is "FOX COTTON," which is a 5,000-year-old brown cotton that was revived in 1989 by Sally Fox, an American entomologist. Sally Fox warned against the large amount of defoliants and pesticides used in growing cotton, and pointed out that more than 90% of the world's cotton is genetically modified. She then re-created her own completely organically grown cotton without the use of any pesticides. This cotton retains the original color of the plant itself before being turned white for human convenience. The "FOX COTTON" yarn used for both the warp and weft in this “EARTH DENIM” was originally produced from the spinning stage. Natural indigo is used for the warp yarn to achieve deep hues. The traditional Japanese dyeing technique "Kase Dyeing (Skein Dyeing)" is used for the dyeing method, which dyes the yarn down to the core. Also, the denim features a unique rough texture woven with uneven yarns at low tension. No artificial rivets are used, and buttons are nut buttons, and undyed cotton thread is used for sewing thread. Organic cotton is used for the pocket bags. “EARTH DENIM” is the ultimate organic denim, using only materials born from the bounty of the soil, water, and sun nurtured by the earth. The silhouette is a tapered fit.
