- 第二次大戦において、ハワイ出身の日系人により編成された第100歩兵大隊。彼らのイタリア戦線での躍進がきっかけとなり、アメリカ軍は日系2世の志願兵を加えて第442連隊を編成した。その活躍は目覚ましく、当時のアメリカでの日系人の地位向上には同隊が大きく影響していると言っても過言ではない。この作品は、第442連隊の部隊編成10周年を記念したシャツで、ジャクソン・モリサワという人物によるデザイン。ヨーロッパ戦線での様子や彼らが掲げたGO FOR BROKE（当たって砕けろ）の文字、連隊章や師団章などが誇らしげに描かれている。また、生地もヴィンテージをもとに再現しており、緯糸に少し畝（うね）があり、柔らかさとシャリ感を兼ね揃えた独特の肌触りを持つコットンポプリン生地を使用。オリジナルを手がけたのはポリネシアン・カジュアルズ社のブランド、ポリネシアン・スポーツウェア。同社はハワイの著名ブランドのシャツやドレスなどの製造も請け負っていた。
