- The original of this Aloha shirt was created by Waikiki Sports, a store located on Kalakaua Avenue in downtown Honolulu that defined the era with its diverse range of patterns. It was a brand known for its keen sense of style, famously seen in the Mackintosh menu pattern. This work features a rugged yet playful design, with U.S. Army unit emblems and rank insignia scattered across a cotton herringbone fabric. At the time, this fabric was used not only for shirts but also for jackets, coats, and even bags. Since it was carried not only by Waikiki Sports but also by multiple other brands, this indicates the high completeness of the pattern and its immense popularity at the time.
