"POLAR BEAR"
- This design was produced for the Sukajan(Souvenir Jacket) by KOSHO (the predecessor of Tailor Toyo) in the late 1950s at the request of the U.S. military and sold at the PX on the Alaska base. Among these, the design featuring lightning bolts and a polar bear is particularly highly regarded. It is a highly fashionable award jacket, finished with a unified black body accented by the embroidery, chenille, and white ribs. The “Yokoburi Embroidery (Free-motion embroidery)” used for Sukajan, the “Chenille Embroidery” used for stadium jackets, and the “Chain Stitch Embroidery” used for bowling shirts – every technique from the good old days is condensed into this jacket.
