COTTON HERRINGBONE OPEN SHIRT
"ARMY VEHICLE"
- Aloha Tailor was established in 1937 in the historic town of Wahiawa, not far from the North Shore of Oahu. It was started by Takeo Takato, born in Japan in 1890 and later immigrated to Hawaii, as a tailor providing workwear for plantation workers. It was also home to the Schofield Garrison, where the U.S. Army's 25th Infantry Division “Tropic Lightning” was stationed, and the company also worked on equipment for the soldiers. "Sun Surf” has reproduced this shirt with a motif of a vehicle considered a GMC transport truck, used in World War II and the Korean War.
