1930's WPA ONE POCKET PULLOVER SHIRTS
- WAREHOUSE has reproduced the 1930s WPA pullover shirt based on vintage shirts. Among the WPA's large-scale programs, blue-collar workwear for laborers was manufactured. It was produced in sewing rooms called "SEWING ROOMS,” and the garments were tagged with “Made by W.P.A. SEWING ROOMS, NOT TO BE SOLD (Works Progress Administration Sewing Rooms Product, Not for Sale)". At times, they repaired military clothing and altered it to create new garments, which were then worn by “WPA” workers. True to the “SEWING ROOM” name, the sewing specification, "lock stitch", which was mainstream for workwear at that time, was used instead of "chain stitch".
