The Black Sheep story began in 1966 with the chance purchase of six Black Welsh Mountain Sheep by Clare Hoare, the founder of the company. A natural knitwear brand utilizing the wool of the nearly extinct Black Sheep breed, it is a knitwear manufacturer rooted in the tradition of British wool products.
