"GATOR NAVY"
- 第1沿岸水中戦闘群はベトナム戦最中の1966年に南ベトナムのサイゴンで創隊された。この部隊の任務は戦闘地域にある米海軍の港湾施設を防護することで、当時、南ベトナムの主要な軍港を守ることが主な任務であった。その後、人員や装備が整ったところで「GATOR NAVY」、すなわち揚陸戦闘部隊の隷下部隊となり、サンディエゴのロングビーチに司令部を設置した。「GATOR NAVY」とは主にアメリカ海軍の強襲揚陸艦で構成される水陸両用部隊の愛称で、海兵を海上から陸地へ輸送・展開し、上陸作戦、人道支援、または緊急展開部隊として機能する能力を持ち、陸海の両面で活躍する姿がワニ(Alligator)に例えられたことに由来している。ジャケットに縫い付けられたアリゲーターの惚けたパッチは、文字などの運針や全体の雰囲気から兵員が横須賀へ寄港した際に刺繍店でオーダー製作したパッチかと思われる。背面にはGATOR NAVYと先に入れた後、数年後に部隊名を後入れしたかのようなステンシルがリアルに表現されている。

This jacket is a faithful reproduction of the vintage jacket based on the specs at that time, so please handle the parts with care. In particular, the zipper may be damaged if it is forcibly raised or lowered. When pulling up the zipper, be sure to pull up the metal part of the zipper slowly and carefully. Please do not pull the string forcibly.
