- This Aloha shirt from Sun Surf's special edition is reproduced based on vintage shirts. This spaceship design was featured in “The Master Book of Hawaiian Shirts,” a reference book on vintage aloha shirts supervised by Sun Surf, and was reproduced once in the year 2000 as a special edition.
This work, which is constantly in demand for reissues, features various space designs born of fantasy and imagination. With motifs such as tin-toy-like spaceships, satellites, and space stations, it is a collectible piece that exudes the nostalgia of that era.
In 1958, the United States successfully launched its first satellite, Explorer 1, and the entire nation began dreaming of life in space, ushering in the era of space exploration. The original design for this piece, which truly reflects that era, was created by “KUONAKAKAI.” It is an original brand launched in 1948 by National Shirt Shops, a long-established manufacturer founded in the early 1900s. The company operated stores across the United States and carried a wide range of items, including not only rayon shirts but also printed flannel shirts and jackets. - Original: KUONAKAKAI (The work of the late 1950s)
