- This Aloha shirt is faithfully reproduced by Sun Surf based on vintage Aloha shirts. This massive work depicts an eagle with its wings outstretched, ready to pounce on its prey at any moment. It is a simple work consisting of a hawk as the main motif and pine branches and leaves depicted on the ground, but the sense of dynamism and power it conveys makes it stand out among other patterns featuring hawks and eagles. The claws gripping the branches with all their might and the sharp look in their eyes as they catch their prey convey the power of the mighty hawk, and this aloha shirt shows the high level of craftsmanship of the craftsmen who worked on this design at the time.

Among the brands that established the heyday of Hawaiian shirts, "WATUMULL'S" is famous for its unique and highly successful brand, developed by East India Store, founded in 1913 by G. J. WATUMULL, an Indian American immigrant. The brand's greatest achievement was to be the first to introduce tropical-patterned Aloha shirts, and Elsie Das, an early textile designer, supported the development of these shirts. She is an Oregon-born Danish-American who came to Hawaii to visit her sister, who had married into WATUMULL, and decided to move there because she liked the climate. At first, she worked as a window decorator for the East India Store, but in 1936 she began her design activities and by 1937 had completed fabrics with innovative Hawaiian patterns such as bamboo, breadfruit, and hula girls, which had never been seen before. - Brand: WATUMULL'S
