- The new premium denim, “ISHIKAWADAI”, made of 100% SUVIN GOLD, the finest Indian cotton, has been released from BIG JOHN. One of the rarest cottons in the world, 100% SUVIN GOLD cotton, is used. The yarn is produced on a spinning machine called “ISHIKAWADAI,” made in 1953 by mixing first and second picked raw cotton with waste SUVIN GOLD cotton. The yarn's rich fluffiness and rough texture differs from that of yarns made on modern computer-controlled spinning machines. The power loom used is a vintage Toyoda Automatic Loom Gl-3 machine. The 14-oz. selvedge denim has a pleasantly rough texture and suppleness, yet solid texture. The silhouette is a basic style, traditional tapered straight, with a slightly high rise, a relaxed thigh, and a taper to the hem. These BIG JOHN jeans are a fusion of traditional and modern styles.
