- The "XXXX-EXTRA" series embodies the desire of Big John to "make the best and world-famous jeans" by bringing together the skills of Japanese craftsmen. Big John has created its original uneven yarn by blending 5 kinds of organic cotton from 5 continents: Europe, South America, North America, Asia, and Africa. The denim is woven with rope-dyed yarn using natural indigo. This is the first time even Sakamoto Denim, a pioneer in indigo dyeing, has attempted this process: a deep indigo color achieved through 16 times of rope dyeing with natural indigo. The denim is approximately 12oz. The time-intensive weaving process creates a soft, fluffy denim with a unique, uneven texture on the surface. The silhouette features a modern, wide straight cut for a relaxed and comfortable fit.
