1st Type Denim Jacket
This denim jacket is made from yarn produced on the “Ishikawadai” ring spinning machine, considered Japan's oldest ring spinning machine still in operation. Not only the weave but also the yarn's texture is truly vintage.
- Made using yarn produced on the “Ishikawadai,” the oldest Japanese-made ring spinning machine still in operation today, manufactured by Ishikawa Seisakusho Co., Ltd. in 1953.
- Even when compared to the latest ring spinning machines, its speed is only about one-third as fast, so productivity is low; however, it produces a hand-spun-like unevenness that computers cannot reproduce.
- The cotton is Deep South Cotton from Texas, USA. It has a substantial thickness, offering stiffness and resilience, with a rough, dry texture.
- 13.5 oz Denim
- A clean, boxy silhouette with a short body length, typical of a 1st type denim jacket.
Spinning, dyeing, weaving. This denim jacket reproduces the manufacturing methods of the era we now call “vintage denim” in the modern day. Please enjoy the ageing process.
