- Like a denim jacket, yet like coveralls. After much trial and error, GENERAL THINGS has reached the design of a denim jacket inspired by the 1940s era of forced material rationing. The fabric is 14oz. white denim. Not pure white, but a natural tone that intentionally retains the cotton's inherent impurities. The overall silhouette is slightly more relaxed than a standard denim jacket. Pockets are positioned low and made as large as possible for coverall-like functionality. The cuffs are cleanly finished. The stitching at the waistband incorporates the V-stitch from vintage jeans, uniquely inverted into an A-stitch design. Original buttons are coated with light gray lacquer for a ceramic-like glossy finish. The leather patch uses leather, offering enjoyable aging changes with wear. The natural, off-white hue—not too bright white—enhances the rugged yet refined character of workwear. This white denim, with its clean impression and tough texture, serves as a versatile mainstay in styling year-round.
