- This Aloha shirt with the vintage label (HAUOLI KAMAAINA) is reproduced by "Sun Surf". The legend of the dragon is said to have originated in China and began with a serpent living by the water. This work depicts a dragon motif with a unique touch. Chinese immigrants had long been engaged in labor in Hawaii. Like the Japanese immigrants, they reconstructed their own culture and customs in Hawaii and established them as a new culture. In Honolulu's Chinatown, Chinese-style buildings from that time still remain, and there are several stores selling food and other products imported from China, showing the great influence they had on Hawaii's culture.

【HAUOLI KAMAAINA】
The designer of this design was Muriel Mercer, who also studied painting at the University of Hawaii after graduating from the School of Fine Arts in Chicago, and worked as a textile designer. Known as "Lady Muriel" in the Hawaiian textile world, she was a popular designer. The original was produced by the mainland U.S. brand "HAUOLI KAMAAINA," and this Aloha shirt, with its distinctive discharge printing effect, dynamically depicts a dragon flying in the sky on a filament rayon fabric, with a Chinese temple and other motifs added to create a very unusual design. - Brand: HAUOLI KAMAAINA
