- The M-51 Trousers were adopted by the U.S. Army in 1951 as combat wear for cold climates. Designed for a loose silhouette to accommodate wearing wool trousers over pants, with cotton field trousers worn over them. This loose fit prioritizes trapping body heat and blocking outside air. These original trousers, made by "Buzz Rickson's", are the denim version of the M-51. The M-51 Trousers feature gusseted pockets and multiple pocket flaps, which can easily cause them to rub, allowing you to experience their distinctive fading process.
