- During the Korean War, U.S. soldiers stationed in Japan sought embroidery services from local shops, taking advantage of favorable exchange rates. This led to a boom in the "Sukajan" (Souvenir Jacket) culture, with vests, local-made patches, and embroidered items becoming highly popular among American soldiers. The creativity and sense of style displayed by these soldiers in their custom garments continue to captivate and inspire interest. "Buzz Rickson's" has reproduced an embroidery vest, inspired by these items.

This jacket is a faithful reproduction of the vintage jacket based on the specs at that time, so please handle the parts with care. In particular, the zipper may be damaged if it is forcibly raised or lowered. When pulling up the zipper, be sure to pull up the metal part of the zipper slowly and carefully. Please do not pull the leather string forcibly.
