"DEERS x CRESCENT & ROARING RED TIGER"
- This Sukajan (Souvenir Jacket) is the exclusive jacket for "HINOYA" made by "Tailor Toyo" as a special product in 2023 fall & winter. The main side features the "DEERS" design from the mid-1950s. The design combines a deer that lives overseas for the main with an "Mt.Fuji" pattern and the words "Japan". It is not uncommon to find vintage Sukajans with motifs that do not match the name of the place or country depicted. The depiction of the deer's magnificent antlers and the embroidered expression of snow on the ground are superbly finished.
The reversible side features a tiger motif from the early to mid-1950s. The black body resembles the night sky, and it features the tiger roaring fiercely at the moon. The original yellow and black tiger design has been changed to red tigers as a special order color, and even the color scheme of the detailed embroidery threads has been carefully selected for this piece. It is an orthodox and popular design with the basic pose of stepping out the front paws. In making this special order, HINOYA placed great importance on the gap between the patterns for the front and back sides. The atmosphere changes drastically from the front to the back sides.
