CREWNECK SWEATSHIRT
- "Champion Reverse Weave" crew neck sweatshirt, developed in 1934 and patented in 1938, reproduced in Japan. "Reverse weave" was invented by Sam Friedland, a salesman who had worked as a cutter at Hickey Freeman, a long-established men's clothing store in the U.S., after trial and error to solve the problem of "shrinkage by washing" pointed out by a customer. He succeeded in reducing shrinkage by using the fabric horizontally instead of vertically. This reissued product faithfully reproduces the manufacturing method of those days, such as seamless shoulders made of a single piece of fabric with no seams on the shoulders and patterns based on tubular sweatshirts. The collar name of the time, which was not marked "REVERSE WEAVE," has also been reproduced. In addition, the "C" logo patch on the left sleeve is not attached, the same as in those days.
