1930'S WPA DOUBLE KNEE DENIM TROUSERS
- WPAの大規模なプログラムのなかでは、労働に従事するブルーカラーのワークウェアが製造された。それは「SEWING ROOM」と呼ばれる縫製室で作られ、衣料には「Made by W.P.A. SEWING ROOMS, NOT BE SOLD」(雇用促進局縫製室品、売り物に非ず)と記載されたタグが付いた。そんな「WPA」の衣料は、デザインと縫製仕様が実に興味深いデザインのベースはミリタリーワークウェアで、多くのアレンジが施されていること縫製仕様は「SEWING ROOM」の名の通り、当時ワークウエアで主流だった「環縫い」ではなく「本縫い」が多用されていることである第二次世界大戦によって工場に軍需が生まれるまでの、のどかなぬくもりがそこにはある。今回の1930'S WPA DOUBLE KNEE DENIM TROUSERSはダブルニー仕様で、ヒップは立体仕上げ、ベルトループはセルビッチ部分を利用するなど1930年代当時のデザインを再現。
