- The tiki has been worshipped as an incarnation of the gods on many Polynesian islands. Even in Hawaii, where it has long been believed that the gods dwell in all things in nature, the tiki holds a special place and has appeared repeatedly as a motif for Aloha shirts. Among these, designs featuring the Tiki as the main motif became particularly common after the 1960s, when the Polynesian boom reached its peak. The vintage Aloha shirt of this work, created by KIHI KIHI around its earliest period, features a single-color discharge print on filament fabric and is extremely rare.
