- Moosman moved to Hawaii in 2008 to start a shop with McMahon, who grew up there. They collaborated to run “Olive Boutique,” which McMahon had been operating in Kailua, and in 2012, they opened “Oliver Men’s Shop” in the same area, specializing in men’s apparel and vintage surf gear. Born in the American Northwest, Moosman has a creative background that includes working as a professional pianist in his 20s, as well as painting and surfing. Drawing on this sensibility, he creates original clothing and accessories and curates a selection of vintage surf gear and records. His shop features a unique assortment of items rooted in Hawaiian culture. Mouseman has previously collaborated with various global brands, including Lightning Bolt, Birdwell, Banks Journal, Ron Herman, and Quality Peoples. The pineapple pattern, which serves as the motif for Keoni of Hawaii, is the same design that was used as the shop’s icon when he operated “Olive & Oliver” at the Surfjack Hotel.
