- コントラクトナンバーAC18091を持つこのA-2は、5度に渡って軍に納入を果たしたラフウェア社の2度目となる製造ロット分。台襟を持つ仕様と、前立てを無視した左右対称の身頃を持つ型紙を強引に前立てにしてしまうなど、同社の特徴とも言える型紙である。当時、A-2に使用する革はホースハイドと軍で規定されていたが、この製造ロットは調達の都合からか、A-2では珍しくゴートスキンが使用されている。ゴートスキンといえば海軍を代表するレザージャケットのG-1を連想させるが、ゴートスキンはホースハイドと比較すると判周り（革1枚あたりの面積）が小さいため、G-1のように革を細かく裁断して無駄なく効率良く使用することが余儀なくされる。A-2のような背中1枚の型紙に対して小さい面積のゴートスキンを裁断すると、残った周りの革では他の裁断パーツとして使えることに限りが生じてくる。言い換えると、非常に贅沢な使い方をしているということである。使用している革は、厳選した厚手のゴートスキンを植物タンニン液で鞣した後、下地に染色を施し、その上から染料で薄い色から重ねて調色しているため自然な色むらが表れている。縦に美しく流れるシボが強調され、改めてゴートスキンの魅力に心を奪われるのである。

This jacket is a faithful reproduction of the vintage jacket, so please handle the parts with care. In particular, the zipper may be damaged if it is forcibly raised or lowered. When pulling up the zipper, be sure to pull up the metal part of the zipper slowly and carefully. Please do not pull the leather string forcibly.
