- 推定1950年から採用された緊急用ベストのタイプE-1。数少ないミリタリーベストの中において1940年代に支給されたC-1ベスト同様にジャケットとのレイヤード着用が可能で汎用性の高いベストである。C-1ベストにはレーヨンコットン素材が用いられたが、このE-1ベストにはざらつきのあるナイロンオックスフォード素材が表地と裏地とで二重に使用されている。E-1ベストの両脇には、無線機とバッテリーを収納するポケットが設けられており、重量のあるそれらが動かないよう身頃に固定するための調節可能なグログランテープが設置されている。また、ポケット上部は無線機の出し入れや本体のコードを差し込んだりする付近のため、レザーで補強する細かい配慮が行き届いた仕様。シンプルな外観ではあるが、ブラックにイエローの刺繍ラベルと熱転写されたエアフォースマークが、フライト装備品の古き良き時代に誕生したことを物語り、それこそがこのベストの最大の魅力でもある。

This jacket is a faithful reproduction of the vintage jacket based on the specs at that time, so please handle the parts with care. In particular, the zipper may be damaged if it is forcibly raised or lowered. When pulling up the zipper, be sure to pull up the metal part of the zipper slowly and carefully.
