"THINGS AS THEY OUGHT TO BE"
- This T-shirt is a collaboration with Yusuke Hanai, an illustrator and artist who is highly regarded both in Japan and internationally. He has also actively collaborated with apparel brands such as BEAMS, VANS, Nepenthes, and UNIQLO. The body is the standard T-shirt, Lot.4601 of "WAREHOUSE". It is the Warehouse's representative T-shirt, knitted on an old-fashioned low-gauge knitting machine, which is said to be "rarer than a loop-wheeled knitting machine". The fabric is called "shadow border" because it is woven with a 12-count uneven yarn to produce a unique shade, and even though it is a plain T-shirt, unevenness like a horizontal border appears faintly. When you think of Biliken, you might imagine Osaka. It is recognized as the mascot of Tsutenkaku Tower, but in fact, Biliken was born in America. While we will omit its history here, Mr. Hanai, who has a deep understanding of American culture, took an interest in it, leading to this collaboration. "THINGS AS THEY OUGHT TO BE" means “to guide things to their proper state,” and is the phrase engraved on the base of the Biliken statue embedded with a 1908 patent coin.
