Designer Hisashi Morishima has been fascinated by vintage clothing since his teens and has continued to wear it ever since. He has also collected a wide range of knick-knacks and folk crafts, using them without prejudice. All the products he has created, utilizing the knowledge and experience he has accumulated by collecting and cherishing everything that has touched his heart, are timeless items that never sway with trends. "BONCOURA" pursues high-quality Japan-made products, paying meticulous attention to every detail, from the fabric to the parts and sewing. Clothing born without compromise, with pride, and designed to accompany you through life. That is "BONCOURA".
The French phrase “BON COURAGE” means "do your best," while the Japanese word “bonkura” means "a lovable fool who sticks to his beliefs and pushes himself forward". The brand name "BONCOURA" has these two meanings: "a lovable fool who sticks to his beliefs and pushes himself forward". It also contains the message "do your best!" to everyone.
