- This jacket is based on a story that it was custom-made to order by an American serviceman in the late 1940s, using printed fabric produced by Kōshō, the predecessor of Tailor Toyo, for sale at PX stores on U.S. military bases. The front features a Japan map design reproduced from a vintage original. Rendered in a variety of colorful threads, the design depicts a map of Japan and Mt. Fuji, with a dragon coiled around the country as if protecting it. The dragon’s face is given a powerful expression through layers of embroidery, while parts of the scales are left unembroidered, allowing the black satin fabric to show through and create a three-dimensional effect.
The reversible side features a reproduction of an exceptionally rare vintage printed fabric, originally hand-printed with eagle, tiger, and dragon designs. Although Sukajan (Souvenir Jackets) made using fabric originally intended for aloha shirts have been found, only one vintage example featuring an all-over print on satin fabric specifically made for Sukajan (Souvenir Jackets) has been acquired by Tailor Toyo in recent years. This ultra-rare fabric is used for a reversible souvenir jacket, a special release made possible by the Kōshō Special Edition. - Main: 100% Acetate

- Please avoid hand washing or using a washing machine or dryer as it may cause significant deterioration of the product such as shape loss, discoloration, fraying, and seam breakage. Please consult a dry cleaner specialty store for laundry.
