- The Polynesian culture has roots in the history of Native Hawaiians. The main motif of this design is a catamaran canoe paddling battle, a symbol of this culture. The work was created by John Meigs, a textile designer who has left his mark on the history of aloha shirts. The names of the Polynesian islands are depicted between the motifs, and this aloha shirt is typical of Meigs, who loved the island's culture and moved to Tahiti himself. Many of his works are deeply influenced by the culture of Polynesia.
