Amami Mud-Dyeing Sashiko Denim jeans
- These unique jeans are made with a jacquard weave of Sashiko style on the denim, and processed with "Amami mud dyeing", the only natural dyeing method in the world that is done only in Amami. Amami mud has round and fine particles, so it can be dyed without damaging the yarns. Also, the yarns become soft and supple by repeatedly rubbing denim with mud and Teichigi (Rhaphiolepis indica) decoction, preventing jeans from wrinkling and losing their shape. The 15.5 oz. heavy denim is woven with 6-count yarn for the warp and 5-count yarn for the weft. The silhouette is the same relaxed tapered as SD-108. The gentle, deep, strong, and astringent colors, which are impossible with chemical dyes, are a gift of nature.
