The 9th Combat Bombing Squadron was one of the first units to be dispatched from Japanese garrisons when the Korean War broke out in 1950. On October 1st of the same year, they moved to Daegu Air Force Base and became the first to operate a jet fighter among the units based in South Korea. Equipped with F-84G "Thunderjet", they were active in the ground attack mission, including support by the United Nations forces until they returned to Japan in 1953.The patch is large to the effects of the war, and because it is made in Japan, the embroidery has a high density and is faithfully reproduced.
