- This Hawaiian shirt is reproduced based on vintage Hawaiian shirts. In the 1950s, Hawaii continued to develop as a tropical paradise, attracting visitors not only from the U.S. mainland but also from around the world. Under such circumstances, the aloha shirts were used as an icon of Hawaii and played a major role as the mainstay of gifts for tourists. The boom spread to the U.S. mainland, establishing a category called resort wear. One of the characteristics of mainland brands of this period is that, unlike those produced in Hawaii, the motifs on aloha shirts are smaller in size to increase production efficiency. In this way, efforts were made to make it easier to create patterns, etc.
