- Everyone in Japan has seen the lovable character “Uncle Torys” at least once. Its creator is Ryohei Yanagihara, a master of advertising art. He has fans not only in Japan but also worldwide, and his works continue to influence many artists even today. He was responsible for the “Let's Go to Hawaii” campaign advertisement in 1961 and has a deep connection with Hawaii, and Sun Surf produced original Aloha shirts for Keoni of Hawaii in the past. The response to the product was so strong that Sunsurf continued to search for new ways to develop the product.
In 2024, after about 10 years of preparation, "Uncle Torys” released his new work. The artist who took over the worldview he created and drew the design is Mookie Sato, the only artist in the world with official permission to add his own touch to Ryohei Yanagihara's designs. Because Mookie is one of the artists who was influenced by Ryohei Yanagihara and is an enthusiastic fan of his work, he can redesign the charm of his work in its entirety. A new world of "Uncle Torys" and "Ryohei Yanagihara" will be launched by Sunsurf, who knows Aloha shirts, and Mookie, who knows Ryohei Yanagihara's designs. - 100％ Cotton
