The raw material chosen for this collection is 100% American cotton yarn. Furthermore, although not typically part of Kamakura Shirts’ lineup, we’ve used selvedge fabrics—both Oxford and denim—woven on vintage power looms. Of course, our attention to detail extends beyond the fabric. The buttons are white shell buttons—made from mother-of-pearl. Their jewel-like luster elevates the shirt to something truly special. \u003cbr\u003e\nWhen discussing Kamakura Shirts, the sewing technique is also essential. The fine stitching, which requires advanced sewing techniques, gives this shirt a sharp texture and exceptional durability. The hem is sewn with a triple-rolled edge. The rolled stitching along curved sections is a finish made possible only by the craftsmen’s exceptional skill. Furthermore, the back of the shirt features a felled seam with no visible seam allowances. Since the same area is sewn twice, the labor is doubled. In return, the absence of visible seam allowances ensures a comfortable feel against the skin and, above all, a beautiful finish.\u003cbr\u003e\nCompared to Oxford fabric, denim offers a much more casual feel.
