U.S.ARMY DENIM COVERALL
- This coverall is reproduced by "Warehouse", based on the vintage working denim jacket for miscellaneous service used by the U.S. Army until the 1930s. It is believed that the U.S. Army discontinued the use of the jacket in the 1940s as OD green herringbone twill, which was highly antidote-resistant and a protective color, was used for BDUs and workwear during World War II. Untangling documents from the time show that denim jackets were worn by the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps), a part of the New Deal policies that were in effect from the 1930s. According to pictures from the time, they were worn unregulated, with the hem of the pullover split and forced into a coat style, or cut into short sleeves. In this vein, the tops were changed from pullovers to the coat style, but the coverall type was short-lived as the Army soon discontinued the use of denim.
